Invisalign in Lakeview, Chicago
Clear aligners designed by a Lakeview cosmetic dentist who actually lives this neighborhood with you. Honest consultations, transparent pricing, and an office just off Paulina Street.
Why Lakeview Patients Come to Me
Most of my Lakeview Invisalign patients fall into two groups: young professionals just starting out, and families with kids still at home. What they share is that they live within a few blocks of my office, work from home a few days a week, and found me on Google or through a neighbor's review. That neighborhood proximity matters more than it sounds. Invisalign isn't a one-and-done appointment — it's a series of short, low-friction check-ins over six to twelve months. When the office is a five-minute walk or a quick errand on the way home from Trader Joe's, patients actually keep their appointments. They're not driving in from the suburbs and rearranging a workday. They're stopping in between meetings or after their morning walk along the lakefront. My office is at 3346 N. Paulina Street, just south of Roscoe in Lakeview. I keep weekday hours only — no nights, no weekends — which works for the work-from-home Lakeview patients who can flex a midday appointment but couldn't make a 7 PM visit work after a long day with kids.
Two Recent Lakeview Cases
The bride-to-be with relapse. A 20-something Lakeview patient came in about a year before her wedding. She'd had braces in her teens, but her teeth had slowly shifted back — mild crowding on the bottom, a small gap on top. She was a candidate for Invisalign rather than a full second round of braces, and we finished her case in about ten months. She picked up her aligners on her way home from work; her dog only ate one tray throughout the whole process.
The new graduate with a budget. A 24-year-old patient who'd just started her first real job. She had mild crowding she'd been self-conscious about her whole life but had never been able to afford to fix. We talked honestly about her insurance coverage, walked through the financing options, and built a plan that fit her budget. She finished treatment about eight months later and now sends me referrals from her friend group.
Frequently Asked Questions

Sometimes — partially. Most dental insurance plans that cover orthodontics cover Invisalign at the same level as traditional braces (often 50% up to a lifetime max of $1,000–$2,500). I'll run your benefits before treatment so you know exactly what you're paying out of pocket. We also offer CareCredit with low- to no-interest financing for the balance.

It's not the end of the world. If you're close to your next aligner, I'll usually have you move forward early. If you're at the beginning of a tray cycle, we'll order a replacement. Build a habit of always putting trays in their case, never wrapped in a napkin — that's how 90% of lost trays disappear.

This happens more than you'd think — dogs love them, they smell like you. Same answer as a lost tray. Keep them out of dog-height reach when they're not in your mouth.

Most Lakeview cases fall between $4,500 and $6,500. Simpler cases at the lower end; complex cases at the higher end. You'll get an itemized estimate before any treatment is scheduled.
Is Invisalign Right for You?
Invisalign is a strong fit if:
Your concern is mild to moderate crowding, spacing, or relapse. Most Lakeview adults who come to me fall into this category — small to medium corrections, not full orthodontic overhauls.
You want to fix something cosmetic before a milestone. Weddings, professional photos, big career moves. Six to twelve months of treatment usually fits the timeline.
You're disciplined enough to wear the trays 22 hours a day. This is the honest part — Invisalign only works if you actually wear them. If you know you'll forget, traditional orthodontics may be a better fit.
Invisalign may not be the right call if:
You have severe crowding, rotation, or bite issues. Some cases still need traditional braces. I'll tell you honestly at your consultation.
You want a cosmetic transformation, not just alignment. If your teeth are worn, chipped, or you don't love the shape, porcelain veneers may be the better starting point. Sometimes the smarter sequence is Invisalign first, veneers later. We'll figure it out together.
The Process
1. Consultation and iTero scan.
A 3D digital scan of your teeth — no goopy impressions. You'll see a preview of your projected smile before we proceed.
2. Custom aligner plan.
Your aligners are made by Invisalign to my specifications. You'll typically receive several weeks' worth at a time.
3. Short check-ins.
Every 8-10 weeks, a quick visit to track progress, hand over the next set of trays, and adjust as needed.
4. Retention.
When treatment ends, you wear retainers (nights only after the first few months) to keep your new alignment. Skip this step and your teeth will relapse — the lesson from my bride-to-be patient above.
About Dr. Dickinson
I'm a cosmetic dentist in Lakeview, Chicago, and a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD). My approach to Invisalign is the same as my approach to every cosmetic procedure: tell patients the truth about what they need, never sell them more than that, and design results that look like them — just refined.
Schedule Your Consultation
A consultation with me is not a sales pitch. We'll evaluate your teeth, take an iTero scan, and talk honestly about whether Invisalign is the right plan for you — or whether something else (whitening, veneers, or simply doing nothing yet) would serve you better.
